    Ecoteologia cristã decolonial.
(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2025-04-28) Nascimento Júnior, Josias Vieira do; Aragão, Gilbraz; Gomes, Rita Maria; Ribeiro, Claudio de Oliveira
In the current landscape of biblical interpretation in the contemporary world, there is a growing trend in interpretations that move in very specific directions and continue to deepen what is understood as coloniality after the deconstruction of the official colonial system. An entrenchment of utilitarian and consumerist structures seeks support in theologies to legitimize themselves before the Christian public and, for the most part, have found ways, through this legitimation, to continue exploiting human and non-human bodies in Creation. Given this, it is necessary to understand what is being sown by these theologies with a view to what will be reaped in the future. Thus, it is essential to identify which seeds need to be planted, as prefaces, to build a Decolonial Christian Ecotheology, starting from the territories and the voices of subalternized peoples. These peoples were, during colonization, and continue to be reviled and discredited today by a colonial theology. In this sense, Decolonial Christian Ecotheology presents itself as an alternative for interpreting this time, offering another way of being and existing in the world. As a younger sister of Liberation Theology, this work proposes another way of doing theology, presented as a transversal position to the mode of interpreting the Creator's revelation and, from the perspective of subalternized peoples, to propose a decolonial way of being and existing in the world. To this end, in the first moment, the present work conceptualizes the most crucial terms for this understanding, grounded in decoloniality, not as a way to undo the knowledge of the Global North, but rather to, by emphasizing the knowledge produced in the Global South, decenter it, populating the knowledge-producing intellectual center with the greatest possible diversity of voices. In the second moment, observing all Creation as the objective of God's salvific plan, Decolonial Christian Ecotheology seeks harmonious coexistence in this Creation based on the theological orientation of faith, thus constituting a new way of doing theology. In this way, the text starts from the ground where the feet of those expropriated from their own way of being and existing in the world tread, to propose another perspective regarding harmony in Creation and in constant relationship with the Creator, so that possible paths for the implementation of this practice can be pointed out. The third moment presents an argumentation that, taking into consideration interreligious dialogue, allows spirituality in Christianity to write a new proposal for a journey, thus identifying a path for learning without necessarily appealing to proselytism or even placing itself in a position of religious syncretism. Finally, what this work proposes is that the autonomy of non-white spiritualities be read with the legitimacy inherent to them, without Eurocentric Christianity or colonial theology being a parameter to tutor them as a prism, a referential that validates them. There is a need for a listening posture on the part of those who have always spoken and little listened, so that a theology with its feet on the ground can be built. That is, a Decolonial Christian Ecotheology.

This dissertation analyzes the biblical book Song of Solomon, a love poem that stands out for its intense use of erotic vocabulary and detailed descriptions of the physical characteristics of the lovers. Different interpretations and positions of scholars regarding the origin and erotic nature of this Song are discussed. Various hypotheses about the composition and structuring of the Song are addressed, as well as interpretative perspectives throughout history. A reading based on literary and linguistic analysis is defended, without imposing preconceived religious or secular structures, and it is suggested that a feminist theological perspective can offer valuable new insights. Is the Song a praise of God, humanity, or spirituality? The metaphors used in the Song to describe love are examined, and it is argued that desire is a divine gift that distinguishes humans and that love, including erotic love, cannot be separated from ethics. Finally, the concept of "ethical love" is discussed in light of the analysis of sexuality in the Song of Songs, and the discrepancy between its content and the teaching of Christian churches is questioned.

The present dissertation is titled "The Liberation Itinerary of the Man Born Blind in the Light of the Feast of Tabernacles in John 9." Its objective is to analyze the liberation itinerary of the man born blind in the Gospel according to John, based on the Feast of Tabernacles, highlighting how this narrative reflects the journey of the Johannine community toward discipleship with Jesus and the importance of this feast for the Christology of the Gospel. To achieve this, the research begins with a brief historical overview of the major festivals of ancient Israel, culminating in the significance of the Feast of Tabernacles for John 9. The symbolism of this feast is portrayed in the narrative through the character of the man born blind, who represents all those who see in Jesus the true light, tracing an itinerary of faith. The methodology used was bibliographical research, involving the reading and analysis of reference works on the subject. The research resulted in a deeper understanding of the context of John 9, grounded in Judaism, and the possibility of exploring its symbolism based on its inculturated roots. Furthermore, the analysis of the blind man's itinerary made it possible to highlight Johannine Christology.

A Igreja Santa e Pecadora: uma abordagem a partir do ensaio “Casta Meretrix” de Hans Urs Von Balthasar.
(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2023-08-09) Lira, Joanderson Marinho de; Aquino Júnior, Francisco de; Lima, Degislando Nóbrega de; Kuzma, César Augusto
Talking about the holiness of the Church does not seem to be difficult, especially since it is an affirmation of faith. The issue is when we have to face the sinfulness of the Church and not its holiness. The objective of our research is to explain the theological-ecclesiological status of the statement “Holy and sinful Church”. As a main theoretical reference we take the theologian Hans Urh Von Balthasar, specifically his ecclesiological essay Casta meretrix. However, we also brought to our research the thoughts of other theologians (Karl Rahner, Joseph Ratzinger, Salis Amaral, Álvaro Barreiro, Medard Kehl and Siegfried wiedenhofer). Our methodology was the bibliographic research of texts consistent with our theme. From the analysis of the theologians' thought, especially Von Balthasar's, we can understand the Church as holy and sinful, we cannot deny that the sins of its members are also yours, since there is no Church without members. This is a visible and terrifying reality. We understand that the expression proposed by Von Balthasar, Casta meretrix, is the most adequate to affirm this condition of the Church of Christ, as it unequivocally presents the double face of one and the same reality.

Lecionário da missa no Brasil à luz do Vaticano II: perspectiva teológica e horizonte pastoral.
(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2024-04-11) Menezes, Karoline da Silva; Maciel, Creômenes Tenório; Andrade, Aíla Pinheiro de; Paranhos, Washington da Silva
In the lectionary, the Word of God is transmitted abundantly and the assembly participates actively through the baptismal priesthood. The research analyzes the lectionary of the Roman Rite Mass in Brazil, its theological-pastoral aspect and its redactional path after the Second Vatican Council. The methodology includes a bibliographical review, a study of documentary and primary sources and records from the archives of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil. It is divided into three chapters, the first historical, the second theological and the third pastoral. The results indicate a laborious and lengthy process of adaptation to the changes of Vatican II, with the introduction of the vernacular language and the recovery of the abundance of the Word of God in the liturgy. There was considerable effort to provide a quality translation for the liturgical assemblies, following the original texts. However, the participation of the people in the construction of the texts was limited. Theology followed the Council's guidelines, emphasizing Tradition, Sunday as the Lord's Day and popular piety. Pastoral challenges include updating the reading forms, educating communities in the use of pastoral aids and ecumenical cooperation for the transmission of the faith through this book. The continuity of the work with the lectionaries deserves great dedication and appreciation, since they are important instruments of evangelization and education for community commitment.

The main theme of this work is the experience that Cleopas and the other disciple had with the risen Jesus on the road to Emmaus. It is a study of the importance and influence of the experience of Jesus' resurrection in the early Church and today. Innature, it is a hermeneutic-ecclesial reading of Lk 24:13-35. The aim is to present a study of the pericope of the disciples of Emmaus from the point of view of biblical hermeneutics and within the framework of ecclesial hermeneutics. As for the methodology, bibliographical research is used in the search for the message presented in the above-mentioned Lucan text, based on consultation of printed and digital works by various authors who have worked on the subject. As a result, this work has produced a pertinent reflection on the experience of the Risen Lord, which can be applied to ecclesial life. The final considerations summarize the whole work, including the perceptions and conclusions reached during the construction of the work.

It is necessary to seek new paradigms for the exercise of leadership in the context of Christian communities according to the countless transformations that the world has undergone. The contemporary world has been identified by four determining factors: Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity (VUCA). Society in general, families, organizations, and Christian communities reflect this scenario; those behaviors require leaders for this time to question their way of acting and develop the qualities, styles, and skills necessary to discover opportunities for changes and growth. These elements will also help them face the challenges that lie before them. Behind a crisis, there can be a great opportunity. The opportunity will be well-taken advantage of if there is a willingness to learn, innovate, and reinvent processes, organizations, and especially themselves, always considering the Holy Scriptures as a reference. Biblical leaders of the past can positively inspire leadership in their contemporary communities. For this reason, four biblical characters recognized in the biblical tradition were selected for the present investigation. There were prominent men in the leadership of God's people at different times in history: Moses, the liberator, who led the people of Israel from their departure from Egypt to their entry into the land of Canaan; the same one who delivered the law that would serve to distinguish Israel from the other peoples of Palestine; David, the greatest king in history, the reference for the other kings of Israel; Elijah, the great prophet who marked the history of prophetism in Israel; and John the Baptist, sent by God to prepare the way for the Messiah, the one who became the first prophetic voice of the New Testament. These leaders present leadership foundations that point to Jesus, the best leadership reference in the Holy Scriptures. The four characters analyzed are given as reference, despite the limitations, mistakes, and successes. Christians consider Jesus Christ the paramount leader of all times; He has much to teach and inspire leaders with his leadership style. Jesus developed a prophetic, priestly guidance, according to the values of the kingdom of God. His leadership was also disciple-making, servant, and pastoral. During his ministry on Earth, he presented the foundations that became leadership references for the world. Careful re-reading of the Scriptures (especially the Gospels) allows the leader to study and apply Jesus' leadership style and foundations, which offer inspiration for the search for answers to current challenges. Some of these challenges are the formation of prophetic and missional contemporary Christian communities. Reviewing, combined with listening to the signs of the times and the community’s needs, will contribute to the search for new clues for leadership that is a sign of the Kingdom of God in the world.

This research aimed to deepen, in the light of René Girard's mimetic theory, the meaning of Christ's sacrifice as overcoming the sacrificial logic, seeking to problematize the mission of Christianity and its ethical role in contemporary times. Specifically, we sought to verify the logic of mimetic desire from its cultural development, from the perspective of conflicting relationships to the construction of the scapegoat. For this, we made an allusion to the concept of sacrificial victim, taking into account the accounts of the Passion, from the prophetic scriptures of the Old Testament, as well as the revealing differentiation by intelligence of the donor victim in the New Testament; in view of sacrifice in mythical cultures, that is, through mythological narratives, encompassed by Greek culture and other cultures. In addition, a reflective path was built that interconnects the presence of Christianity in the current scenario, which is marked by violence and a culture of death, as well as the ethical role of Christians in the preservation of life. In this way, it was noticed that, with the light coming from anthropology, theology rediscovered the ethical role of Christianity in today's world. The resumption of this awareness occurred, above all, by deepening the mimetic desire and its consequences, which have several references, especially in human relationships. With this foundation, Christianity presents itself as a model of conflict resolution, which since the Jewish tradition was committed to resolving them through solidary love in defense of the victims, not through violence itself. The uniqueness of Christ's sacrifice points out, through Jesus' way of life, mechanisms that direct towards models of relationships focused on ethics, both in terms of care in defense of the victims, as well as human liberation from mimetic cycles. Girard's mimetic theory, in line with anthropological data, enables the understanding of the Christian vocation in our days and, at the same time, enhances and revitalizes the Christian's action in the world - as witnesses of fraternal and healthy relationships, which show in the being human the ability to experience the solidary wisdom that comes from Jesus and through resilient survivors. With this, this work brings as a result, the awareness of Christians, of the present time, in view of the intelligence of the victim, that is, the Trinitarian relationship that moved the life of Jesus, and that gives meaning to the life of each Christian, as well as , the understanding of Christ's loving logic in giving himself consciously and freely, going against the culture of the conflicting mechanism in human relationships.

The eventual unity between Catholics and Lutherans will only have any significance if there is a thorough understanding of the difficulties that existed during the time of the Reformation, both in terms of doctrinal conflicts and the interpretative context stemming from Martin Luther's activities. Academic research undertaken in recent decades has provided a clearer picture of his thinking, which has facilitated the consensus reached in the official dialogues between the Catholic Church and the Lutheran World Federation. Among the issues that remain open in this dialogue are those related to the nature and properties of the Church (fundamental ecclesiology). This research aimed to identify points of convergence between Luther's ecclesiological thought and the fundamental Catholic ecclesiology in the dogmatic constitution Lumen Gentium and the decree Unitatis Redintegratio of the Second Vatican Council, with the goal of contributing to advancing official ecumenical dialogue on the subject. To accomplish this, the sacramental nature of the Church proposed by the Council was analyzed through the concepts of sacramentum tantum, res et sacramentum, and res tantum from sacramental theology. Using the norms of theological interpretation, the degree of authority of that conciliar teaching was identified, as well as the limit of true Catholic theological pluralism. This limit subsequently allowed for the identification of areas of consensus between Catholic ecclesiology and Luther's. Regarding Luther's thinking, four of his major ecclesiological works were analyzed, synthesizing them into a unified whole based on his 1528 confession of faith. Eight points of consensus were identified between Catholic fundamental ecclesiology and that of Luther, some of which were not adequately addressed in official ecumenical dialogues. Building on these points, eight practical proposals were suggested to transform into a concrete reality what theological analysis achieved through reflection. It was found that the sacramental analogy regarding the nature of the Church is a non-definitive teaching of the ordinary and universal Magisterium, and it aligns with Luther's thinking in those eight points of consensus. Finally, it was observed that the analogy of the mystery of the Incarnation is more suitable than Luther's proposed analogy of the relationship between body and soul to explain how visibility and invisibility coexist in the Church. The ecumenical journey can benefit from this research, both by outlining proposals to translate the obtained consensus into practical experiences of Christian formation and living, and by serving to purify the memory of Catholic Christians regarding Luther's thought in those points of agreement.

The present research has as its object of study the I Am (Egō eimí) of the Fourth Gospel, pronounced several times by Jesus in the Johannine work, and its roots in the biblical tradition of the self-revelation of the divine name. The objective is to reflect on the meaning of this I Am for the IV Gospel in its three forms of occurrence: the simple, the absolute and the accompanied by predicatives; in addition to deepening the Old Testament antecedents that inspired the author of the Gospel in the self-declarations I Am of Jesus and its parallel with the self-proclamations of YHWH, when he also pronounces the I Am. The methodology used was essentially that of bibliographical research. As for the results achieved, it first appears that the I Am of Jesus is a formula of revelation like the I Am of the Old Testament and is part of the tradition of divine self-revelation that permeates all of Scripture. Secondly, this I Am of Jesus finds its roots in the self-presentation of YHWH in Ex 3,14b, as 'ĕhǝyeh, but mainly in the self-proclamations 'ănî hû' of the literature of Deutero-Isaiah, which emphasize the uniqueness of the true God . The third important notion is that this 'ănî hû' of the prophetic literature became so strong that the rabbinical traditions proclaimed the name of God with a version that particularly emphasized the intimacy and solidarity between YHWH and Israel: it was the 'ănî wehû' (I and he). This version was taken up by the author of the Fourth Gospel to show the unity and solidarity between Jesus and the Father. Fourthly, the I am of the IV Gospel is at the service of Christology and the soteriological proclamation that the evangelist wanted to emphasize, in addition to showing who Jesus is in relation to humanity and what he offers in his mission as an envoy of the Father when the I am it is joined to several predicates unique to it. Finally, for the evangelist, Jesus and YHWH are not two gods, but the Father and the Son in full intimacy. Thus, everything that belongs to the Father is given to the Son, including his sacred name; so he can make it fully known to all entrusted to him.

The present research intends to resume and rethink a reality of all times, the existence of poverty, from the testimony of the ancients, present in the biblical texts. Throughout Scripture, the notion of poverty is mentioned, and the poor are presented as those who are preferred by YHWH, precisely because they are abandoned and exploited by the ruling class. In this work, some aspects and nuances of the terminology related to the poor/poor will be seen; however, emphasis will be placed on economic and social poverty. For a better understanding, the study of the terminology for the poor/poor in the Old Testament literature in relation to the terminology in the Gospel according to Luke is the material object that will guide this research. Therefore, the research will aim to research the vocabulary related to the theme of the poor in the Gospel according to Luke, putting it in relation with the terminology used in the Old Testament for this theme, considering the interpellations of this reality for the current world. The research will be developed from bibliographical investigation of comments; biblical and theological dictionaries, as well as Greek-Portuguese and Hebrew-Portuguese dictionaries, as well as research in magazines, periodicals, digital and printed articles, with a hermeneutic focus within a political, social and pastoral perspective. The research will be presented in three stages: the first will expose the terminology related to poor/poverty in the Old Testament literature; then, and having the Gospel according to Luke as a source, a historical-literary analysis of the lucan text will be made, and, for a greater understanding of the reception and application of the terminology referring to poor/poverty in the message of the good news of Jesus to his community ; for that, the following passages will be analyzed: Lk 1,46-56; 4.14-30; 16.19-31; 21.1-4. The third stage deals with the response of Christians today to the good news for the poor, coming from the Old Testament and endorsed by Jesus Christ. Among the many challenges and scourges that plague postmodern humanity is the scandal of poverty, demanding from the Christian community a renewal of commitment to the good news of Jesus that was primarily for the poor and suffering. The message of the Gospel of Christ refutes aporophobia and emphasizes charity and empathy towards the subject of poverty.

Due to the Second Vatican Council, the Catholic Church recovered the most truthful thing that it can talk about itself, which is the God‟s People notion. Thanks to this recovered vision and its consequences in ecclesiology, in many places, experiences of communion and participation has been created, seeking, this way, and in a concrete mode, to live the reality of valuing all the baptized people in the Christian Community. Latin America is a continent where this truth about the Church has been dynamically and creatively received; and, thus, a new way of being community has emerged. Being heir to this ecclesial tradition brought by the Vatican II and also the latin-american Church fecund experience, the Pope Francisco, lately, has placed at the pastoral Church‟s center the theme Synodality, which is constituted as a God‟s request to the Catholic Chistian Community in this millennium. Consequentely, it is necessary to talk about Synodality not as an event, but as a process always in the place of novelty, and it demands from everyone a conversion in the way of thinking, acting, and living the relationships inside and outside the Catholic Church.

The family is the result of human love between people who together decide to build a home. From this loving relationship, life is generated and its members go through a process of relationship, communion and donation. Within the family, there should be no room for isolation, but for the loving relationship between the members who make it up and practice self-giving love. We intend to show that the understanding and belief in family values are fundamental for living well and for overcoming the challenges that life as a couple is responsible for revealing. We will not maintain a pessimistic discourse about the family institution, but we dare to show the fundamental beauty of this union between people who love each other and who throw themselves into life to live love. Pope Francis in ExhortationAmoris Laetitia (AL-2016) and Saint John Paul II inFamily Association (FC-1981) present norms, rules and pastoral guidelines that will serve to corroborate the teaching of the Church about men and women who recognize themselves as beings who have reason and the capacity to love. When man and woman unite in marriage, they find themselves capable of constituting a family. For this reason, the objective of this work is to analyze and reflect, based on the teaching of John Paul II and Francis, on conjugal love and the family. We will reflect on the initial presentation of the Pastoral Familiar presented in the(FC) and complemented by(AL) with the aim of presenting continuity and novelties in the evolution of thought among the popes regarding some pastoral issues. This research is of a bibliographic and literature review nature, and as such, assumes a descriptive and explanatory character based on the Magisterium of the Church, the Catechism, Canon Law, magazines and other sources relevant to the subject studied. Our theoretical reference will be the two apostolic exhortations cited above. These two works (FC and AL) will serve as a fundamental basis for us to delve into the depth of the Family Pastoral conceived and carried out within the Church. Based on the pastoral interpellations of the mentioned popes, we want to arrive at a pastoral novelty regarding the formation of new couples with the firm intention of being better formed with regard to the value, meaning and sacredness of the sacrament of marriage. This reflection is important both because it offers an organic vision of marriage, and because of what it illuminates the praxis and pastoral experience of marriage as a sacrament through which the baptized man and woman give and receive each other mutually, for the good of the couple and education of the children, thus constituting a family in the Church and in society. This reality, more than a social fact, is rather a manifestation of the spousal union existing between Christ and the Church and no less than a representative of God's love for humanity. Therefore, those who wish to unite in marriage need to go through the care of the Church which, through the Family Pastoral, will train and accompany them before and after marriage.

The textual corpus of the Holy Scriptures becomes a documental source of knowledge of God, the result of an oral tradition transmitted through several generations. In it, it is possible to observe in the facts that involve the chosen people, the progressive knowledge of the divinity in each event that follows the composition of its history. Two spheres of cultural experiences were the basis for the construction of this knowledge: the real and the domestic. The first is subdivided into prophetic and omniscient narrative, and the second takes place in proverbial style. The book of Job has at its core divine knowledge from the perspective of the Theology of Retribution. To understand it, it is necessary to delve into the concepts of blessing, curse and the meaning of the distribution of divine justice to maintain a cosmic and social order. The main character problematizes this doctrine with her statements. The work does not propose an elimination of suffering, but a theological interpretation of it. This pervades the way the image of God is conceived, which is even different in the two blocks of the book, composed in prose and poetry. This dissertation focuses on this second part in which suffering is questioned as a direct result of sins, thus allowing a way of understanding through gratuitousness in the relations between God and human beings. Finally, a hermeneutics of Job 42, 1-6 is proposed. These verses show Job's recognition of his limitations of knowledge. He claims that he only knew God by “ears” and after the suffering he experienced, he was able to see Him in a different way. From the text in Hebrew, it is shown that the source of science became contact through vision, as a revelation, revealing the progress that took place in Job's cognitive process. The character then assumes a new behavior, with penitential practices known in the Bible. The assent to faith is given through gratuity, showing that the experience of undeserved suffering was the path to a different divine knowledge from what had been transmitted by traditions.

This research aims to discuss the symbols of Ap 17,1-18 as a way of communicating the real and transmitting hope. One of the main features of Apocalypse is to present its message through symbolic language, in this sense, knowing the meanings of its symbols is of fundamental importance to understand its content. The objective of the study is to discuss the symbols contained in chapter 17 of the Apocalypse as a way of approaching reality and conveying hope. For this purpose, the bibliographic research methodology has been used as a means to ensure an up-to-date reflection, based on others critical research on the Bible. The text is divided into three chapters: the first chapter brings introductory and important aspects of the book of Apocalypse. The second chapter discusses the categories of real and symbolic as relevant elements for assimilating the meaning of the text. The third and last one makes an interpretative analysis of the text from its main symbols.

Postmodernity has implied challenges and profound changes in the integral formation of the human being. Although it is not well defined, in general, it is felt as if the values and ideals that hitherto guided human life, at least in the last few centuries in the West, are now in disrepute. Exacerbated subjectivism, the era of post-truths, relativism and religious pluralism show that the change in the formation of contemporary human beings even reaches their relationship with the transcendent. After all, in a pluralistic and polycentric world, religion is relegated to the private sphere. In the midst of these counterpoints of postmodern dialectics, the present study aims to revisit the spirituality of Taizè as a possibility to recover hope in times of crisis through the primary ideal of communion and brotherhood that integrates the human being. The translational and transductive approach is based on a hermeneutics of texts about human spirituality: A springtime in the Church. Brother Roger and Taizé by Rex Brico; Modernity, pluralism and crisis of meaning by authors Peter Berger and Thomas Luckmann; and in the accounts that collect the religious experience of the brothers of the Taizè Community of Alagoinha/BA. The methodological course is carried out in three moments. At first, it seeks showing positively the possibilities of spiritual development between and beyond the challenges and obstacles arising from postmodernity. In the second moment, it discusses the history of Taizé with emphasis on its spiritual identity in order to highlight its spirituality as a possibility to reintegrate the human being. In the third moment, it seeks to re-propose the spirituality of Taizè as a possibility of an integrative, dialogical and ecumenical experience of the human being. The postmodern crisis refers the needing to rescue spirituality as the ability to reintegrate human beings and reorder relationships with themselves and with the world in which they coexist. The hermeneutic exercise deepens the layers of interpretation, meaning, what spirituality is and how Taizè helps in this search.

Contemporary times challenge us to undertake new ways of proposing the faith, through evangelization and mission. Several inviting perspectives emerge, such as the Rosary of Men, which uses a popular expression that is so old and eminently feminine to bring the masculine closer to the base of the Church. This proposal was presented in such a compelling and mobilizing way that it motivated the Brazilian Catholic Church to designate a Bishop to closely monitor this growing expression of faith. Even with all its attributes, an attentive pastoral look is opportune, with the aim of making better use of this expression, as well as avoiding possible deviations, narrowness and/or closure, sometimes resulting from the influences of the cultural context that was created, still avoiding make it anachronistic and ambiguous. It is opportune to rid ourselves of naivety and seek to treat this manifestation of faith with common sense, for its better pastoral use within the Church, understanding that there are several initiatives of groups of Men's Rosaries in Brazil. This work deals specifically with the Rosary of Men Mother Queen (THMR), linked to the popular representation of the Apostolic Movement of Schoenstatt. Based on bibliographical research related to the theme, a methodological course was built that is divided into moments: the first one seeks to make a historical rescue of the devotion to Mary and the Rosary, as well as the origin of the THMR; in a second that presents a theological analysis of the Marian devotion translated in devotion to the Rosary, in the perspective of the new evangelization, from the popular piety and a third that enters in the challenges of the urban pastoral and seeks to design, in a propositional way, possible paths for a better use of this expression in the community.

The Brotherhood of Nossa Senhora da Boa Morte de Cachoeira, formed solely by black women, is characterized by devotion to Our Lady of Good Death and her Assumption into Heaven. Supported by the double religious belonging, to Catholicism and Candomblé, the sisters of Boa Morte, forged a religious syncretism capable of resisting and re-signifying values of both creeds, regarding the elements of death, in order to remain integrated in their multicultural context, marked by religious diversity. Our study consists of theologically analyzing the process of syncretism developed by the brotherhood of Boa Morte around Maria and Nanã Burokô/Burokê. For the elaboration of this study, bibliographic research was used as a methodology, enabling discussions on the historical and anthropological contextualization of the Irmandade da Boa Morte; understanding of death in Candomblé and the death of Mary in the Brotherhood's cosmovision and its syncretism between Nossa Senhora and Nanã; and, finally, a theological and pastoral analysis of the popular Christian faith in the face of the syncretism between Maria and Nanã, in the Brotherhood of Nossa Senhora da Boa Morte. Thus, the research results show that the Irmandade da Boa Morte celebrates the Catholic rituals of devotion to the Dormition of Mary, but, in fact, in an indirect way, it celebrates death according to its African ancestors, which imposes the observation that the syncretism carried out by the sisters, in the midst of the slave system, was a form of resistance and maintenance of cultural identity, as well as, from the theological point of view, this process reveals the resonances of the Spirit of God acting in hearts and religious traditions.
