As entrevistas foram realizadas in loco e filmadas.
This study aimed to investigate, from an enunciative-anthropological perspective, the discourse of deaf subjects and basic education teachers regarding their relationships with written Portuguese Language (PL) and Libras. The investigation focused on the linguistic in-between, writing use practices, and the condition of these subjects as speakers of a visual-spatial modality minority language. To this end, the relationship established between the deaf subject and written Portuguese was analyzed, the constitution of the subject in the in-between of languages was discussed, and the contributions of anthropological enunciation to teaching in basic education were reflected upon. The research is justified by the fact that most deaf people face difficulties in writing PL, as its acquisition is often based on methods aimed at hearing people. Given this scenario, the study sought to answer: what are the discursive and subjective relationships that deaf subjects and teachers establish with writing and Libras, and how can the enunciative-anthropological bias reconfigure this teaching? The theoretical framework focused on enunciative and anthropological views of language, supported mainly by Flores (2019). Methodologically, the research is characterized as a field study, of an applied nature, with a qualitative approach and exploratory objectives, developed in two schools in the city of Patos, Paraíba. The analysis corpus consisted of the testimonies of two deaf students and four teachers, obtained through semi-structured interviews. The interviews were conducted in loco and filmed. Subsequently, the material was translated, subjected to peer analysis, and evaluated in detail. Meaning Outline, Metalinguistics, and the Notion of Commentary were used as analysis categories, which constitute the central axes and function as the guiding theoretical-methodological lens for reading and interpreting the corpus. The results revealed a disconnection in the act of teaching that highlights the Portuguese Language as a territory of non-belonging for deaf subjects, reflecting traditional and homogeneous pedagogical practices that disregard the linguistic singularity of deafness. Although the students demonstrate distance and disaffection with written Portuguese, they submit to learning it because they recognize it as an instrument of social mobility. In contrast, Libras is consolidated as the space of subjective habitation, identity constitution, and citizenship for these subjects. The research concludes that teacher alienation and institutional unpreparedness perpetuate exclusion due to the lack of mutual recognition of enunciative positions, pointing to the urgency of reconfiguring the teaching of the Portuguese Language under the enunciative-anthropological bias, which recognizes the teacher as a mediator of a living language and the deaf person in the fullness of their condition as a legitimate speaker of a visual-spatial modality language.
