Item type: Item , Tudo é divino: releitura imagética de santos católicos a partir de conceitos de design e território.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2024-04-02) Maçães, Hime Navarro; Teixeira, Carla Patrícia Pacheco; Carvalho, Breno José de; Rocha Júnior, Dario Brito; Lopes, Maria TeresaThis study explores the way to create innovative products for the Catholic religious market, based on the principles of cultural reconversion, materialization of faith and devotional experience. The study of products consumed by the faithful in parishes and during patron saint celebrations in different regions of Brazil identified the need to integrate design concepts in this market. The theoretical basis of the study in question includes references to aura, as presented by Benjamin (2009); Catholic Images, from the perspective of Schmitt (2012); Krucken's Design and Territory (2009); Cultural Reconversion, exploring Canclini's hybridity (2011) and Martín-Barbero's mediations (2008). The methodology adopted involved researching products in virtual and physical environments, analyzing the design available on the market and gaining a deeper understanding of the subject. The Design Thinking methodology was adopted to develop a minimum viable product and the concept of design, with the aim of adding value to the products developed. As a result, a graphic solution was developed and applied to innovative T-shirts, combining traditional images of saints with symbolic elements of the territories where festivals and pilgrimages take place. The results obtained can also serve as a reference for local artists, designers and producers interested in developing new products, even beyond the religious sphere. It is hoped that this study will contribute to the development of other projects in the field of design and communication, highlighting the process of ideation and production of real products marketed through e-commerce platforms.Item type: Item , Aplicativo ferramenta sinistra: transparência de dados a partir da educação digital.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2025-02-17) Ory, Kelma Virgínia Bernardes; Lins, Anthony José da Cunha Carneiro; Costa Júnior, Luiz Carlos Pinto da; Saldanha, Paloma; Faltay, PauloWith the emergence of social media, the flow of data on the internet has reached new levels, creating a market dominated by Big Tech companies that primarily exploit data to develop more assertive commercial strategies. On the other side, there is the user, who in many cases is unaware of how their information circulates in this market, what their rights are, or how they should protect themselves. Between Big Techs and the user, there exists a knowledge gap, where large companies absorb data at a frenetic pace without regulation keeping up with the speed at which this exploitation occurs. It was in identifying this gap that the idea of Ferramenta Sinistra emerged, the focus of this work, which aims, on the one hand, to contribute to processes of digital literacy and technological appropriation. On the other hand, the work also aimed to experiment with ways of bridging current scientific production on cyber surveillance, its architects (the academic community), and the users of services provided by companies in the broad sector of the globalized economy known as Big Techs. In this sense, the efforts undertaken in this work follow the principle that resistance to the invasive procedures of monetizing individual and collective life lies in open innovation, the publicizing of scientific knowledge, and collective learning.Item type: Item , Desafios e benefícios da implementação da gamificação no ensino da matemática: perspectiva dos professores da região metropolitana do Recife.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2024-09-27) Silva, Emanuel Fagundes Bezerra da; Lins, Anthony José da Cunha Carneiro; Carvalho, Breno José de; Bezerra, Cláudio Roberto de Araújo; Neves, André Menezes Marques dasThis study analyzes the challenges and benefits of applying gamification strategies in mathematics education, with special attention to the perspective of teachers in the metropolitan region of Recife. The research contextualizes the need for innovation in the field of education, exploring gamified strategies that promote engagement and academic performance. The research is based on contemporary theoretical contributions, such as those of Jacques (2023), who highlights gamification as a driver of learning, and Silva and Silva Júnior (2023), who address its relationship with the development of creativity and critical thinking. Using a qualitative approach, with data collected through an online questionnaire, the study confirmed, in the context of the Metropolitan Region of Recife, the effectiveness of gamification as a tool to increase student engagement and motivation. As a relevant result, it was concluded that teachers face structural challenges, such as a lack of technological resources, but highlighted gamification as a viable and promising strategy to improve mathematics education in the region. The research contributes to the fields of communication and creative industries by providing a contextualized analysis of the impact of gamification and confirming its relevance in different educational settings.Item type: Item , Banco de imagens digitais e invisibilidade: a falta de representatividade e as questões raciais ocultadas pelos racismo algorítmico.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2024-06-05) Almeida, Ana Paula; Costa Júnior, Luiz Carlos Pinto da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9722381535544398; Lins, Anthony José da Cunha Carneiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8374444110347392; Teixeira, Carla Patrícia Pacheco; Faltay, PauloThis work seeks to establish a research agenda on a specific issue that permeates the media market, which is the lack of racial diversity in digital image banks. With the advent of social networks at the beginning of the 20th century, the use of images to promote the brands and products of companies and entrepreneurs from various sectors of the economy gained even more space and relevance than they had already achieved. However, the images of black people presented in these image banks often reflect racist biases that are expressed in their algorithms, created (most of the time) by white people with no racial or class consciousness. This research aims to map, through a survey of works and cases related to image banks and debate the impact of algorithmic racism on the stereotypical representations of black people in these image banks and its impact on the marketing sector. Thus, we intend to contribute to a critical analysis of the lack of representation of black people in digital image banks and that entrepreneurs in the Creative Industry can reflect on the diversity of the real world in their businesses - thus allowing greater image representation in the ecosystems of social media.Item type: Item , Corpos trans no cinema brasileiro.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2024-09-25) Nascimento, Leandro Tabosa do; Bezerra, Cláudio Roberto de Araújo; Rocha Júnior, Dario Brito; Carreiro, Rodrigo Octávio d'AzevedoThis technical report is the study of the feature documentary “Trans Bodies in Brazilian Movies”, about experiences of transgender actresses in the audiovisual productions in Brazil. The movie is based upon the research “The Importance of the visibility and representativeness of the trans bodies in the audiovisual in Brazil as a matter to fight against transphobia and the transfake” This research main purpose is to investigate the visibility and representativeness of the transgender people at the Brazilian audiovisual productions and the changes after the publication of the open letter from the National Trans Artists Movement – MONART, to every cisgender artist, searching for naturalization and humanization of the identities and the trans presence at art scene and the end of transfake. The research of bibliographic nature made a systematic review of the scientific Brazilian research related to the LGBTQIAPN+ in articles, dissertations e theses, as well as film festivals catalogues of Brazilian movies with trans thematic among years 2016 to 2021. Based on the studies of Jaqueline Gomes de Jesus (2016), who has stood out for her critical analysis of the power relations involving trans people in Brazil, it was possible to understand how cinema has the potential not only to represent, but also to subvert narratives, creating a space for visibility and inclusion of trans bodies within the social context. According to the author, cultural productions, such as cinema, play a fundamental role in the "naturalization" of trans presence, challenging the normative construction of gender and questioning the structures of oppression that affect the transgender population. The results guidelines have the following research problem: How can the cinema contribute to the transphobia combat and the humanization of the trans bodies? From the data collected and analyzed we got the following conclusions: Brazilian cinema has seen a decline in the casting of cisgender actors and actresses for transgender roles. There has been a rise in transgender representation both on and off-screen, with more trans individuals taking on acting and directing roles. Additionally, narratives are evolving to portray transgender and transvestite individuals in a more human and natural light.Item type: Item , Da pisada do barro ao streaming: um estudo do samba de coco de Arcoverde-PE como indústria criativa para o desenvolvimento local.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2024-03-25) Lourenço, Paula Santos; Teixeira, Carla Patrícia Pacheco; Rocha Júnior, Dario Brito; Peixoto, João Guilherme de Melo; Santos, Maria Salett TaukThis dissertation seeks to understand how coconut samba groups from Arcoverde-PE can contribute to local development. This work included a bibliographical review, in-depth interviews and direct and participatory observations of the artists and various actors in this process. Almeida (2011) and Lima (2018) were used as theoretical references for the popular demonstration of coconut; Canclini (1983) and Abib (2015) for popular cultures; Barbalho (2007), Calabre (2019), Canclini (1998) and Rubim (2007) for cultural policies; Bendassolli (2009), Howkins, (2013) and Leitão (2011 and 2023) for creative economy and Creative Industries; Serrão e Costa (2020) and Jara (2001) for local development; Tauk Santos (2015 and 2016) and Reis (2018) for local development and communication and Chiavenato and Sapiro (2004) for strategic planning. The study aims to answer the following research question: how does a festival based on popular culture contribute to local development? In this way, it is expected to identify the cultural, social and economic impacts generated by the project on the coconut groups and the municipality. As a product of intervention, a strategic plan was developed for the festival. The proposed solution can serve as inspiration for Sesc and cultural institutions to act in other contexts and places.Item type: Item , Gamificação para a cidadania: aplicação de jogos para democratizar o conhecimento sobre políticas públicas e instituições do setor público.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2024-03-27) Lima, Isabelle Costa; Lins, Anthony José da Cunha Carneiro; Peixoto, João Guilherme de Melo; Soares, Nilson Valdevino; Teixeira, Carla Patrícia PachecoThe present study aimed to understand how the public power, more specifically the Legislative Power of Pernambuco, can use the language of games to, in a playful way, promote knowledge about its attributions and the public policies created by it, with views on the political formation and the city. Specifically, it was evaluated how the relations between society and the State, at different historical moments, impacted the construction of the concept of citizenship and the exercise of citizen participation; we seek to understand how public communication, through innovative gaming strategies, can promote political literacy and public engagement; the broad context of games is analyzed, as well as their concepts, with the purpose of understanding their potential, mainly educational; and, finally, it was presented how the prototype of a digital game could address content about the Legislative Process, based on a popular initiative proposal. Methodologically, the research had an exploratory phase with the objective of promoting a mapping of the topic addressed. To this end, numerous publications were produced on games, politics, innovation in the public sector, public communication, political literacy, social control, among others. In addition, data were collected from the application of a questionnaire on Google Forms, with high school students, from public and state schools, over 16 years old, to better understand the target audience of this study. The results obtained in the research were: in relation to entertainment preferences, young people prefer to play (27.8%); listening to music (27.8%); leave (11.1%); and reading books (5.6%). With regard to the format of the games, the majority (94.4%) reported preferring electronic games. Regarding the frequency of use of electronic games, it was found that 44.4% use the game every other day; and 38.9% every day. The majority of people interviewed (72.2%) also stated that they use their cell phones more as a means of playing games. Regarding the final question, related to the format they would choose to learn about public power, 50% of students reported that they preferred digital games to aid learning; 27% preferred lectures; 11% books, and 11% comic books. Finally, it was concluded that games are effective innovation tools for building meaning and motivation. This scientific research proposes, however, that educational games or persuasive games developed by public institutions are guided by ethical issues, always having democracy as a guideline.Item type: Item , Uso da inteligência artificial no poder judiciário brasileiro: aspectos e análise da comunicação estratégica do tribunal de justiça de Pernambuco.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2024-03-27) Calado, Matheus Lopes; Peixoto, João Guilherme de Melo; Lins, Anthony José da Cunha Carneiro; Teixeira, Sérgio TorresThe advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an undeniable reality and is increasingly present in all sectors of society, both in the private and public spheres. In Brazil, this progress is noticeable not only in private companies and institutions, but also in regional courts and the Superior Court. These advancements are observed closely, as they are directly related to the fundamental principles of justice, such as transparency, impartiality, and efficiency. Additionally, clear and strategic communication with society about the use of artificial intelligence is essential. It is necessary to ensure that the population understands the benefits and challenges that AI brings to the judicial system and society as a whole. Transparent and accessible communication helps promote trust in the judiciary and ensures informed and engaged participation of society in discussions about the use of AI. The advancement of artificial intelligence in the Brazilian judicial system is evident and requires a careful and transparent approach. Strategic communication plays a fundamental role in this process, ensuring that the fundamental principles of justice are preserved and that society is informed and involved in the transformations provided by AI.Item type: Item , Comunicação intercultural em um programa de mobilidade acadêmica internacional.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2024-03-27) Mello, Karla Ramos Ribas de; Nogueira, Fernando Artur; Peixoto, João Guilherme de Melo; Teixeira, Carla Patrícia Pacheco; Huckert, Anne Marie Madeleine FlauteThe present master's thesis examined how Intercultural Communication Competence contributed to International Academic Mobility among students of different nationalities. This study aims to analyze the communicative strategies used by radios that present journalistic content in programming, broadcasting live on the network platform and in the traditional channel, on the dial, and discuss whether the product presented on the social network can be considered radio. From the analysis of 26 radio programs, selected through a mixed exploratory methodology, the study dwells on the appropriation of television and interactive elements, coming from the social network, in the language used for dial and Facebook audiences. The process of remediation and hybridization of the media outlet were also analyzed. The intersection of theoretical discussions with data obtained through empirical research allowed to conclude that, by inserting different elements into Facebook programming, the radio empowers its presence in the context of media convergence and remediation, dialoguing with different platforms, while reiterates the concepts of contemporary radio, defined by Debora Lopez (2009) and Marcelo Kischinhevsky (2016), regarding its hypermediatic and expanded behaviors. Even though still in a gradual process, with the joining in of few broadcasters inserted in the treated scenario, the research, as a final point, suggests an idea of transmedia radio, given the remediated and multiplatform scenario.Item type: Item , A LGPD e as decisões resultantes do tratamento automatizado de dados pessoais.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2023-08-21) Souza, Aurora de Barros; Silva, Juliano Mendonça Domingues da; Martins, Clarice Marinho; Melo, Paulo Victor Purificação; Teixeira, Sérgio TorresData protection has been a subject debated by several new national and international legislations. The objective is to provide more security in cyberspace regarding the capture and processing of personal data. In Brazil, the Federal Constitution, the Consumer Defense Code, and the Civil Rights Framework for the Internet legislate on data protection, but it is the General Data Protection Law (GDPL) that specifically aims to protect the fundamental rights of freedom and privacy and the free development of the personality of the natural person. However, the GDPL was amended in its original text to allow for the processing of data in an automated way, without human intervention, including for the purpose of deciding on the profiles of the holders. Hence the concern about the effectiveness of data protection since the error rates by artificial intelligence algorithms are alarming and result in an increase in social inequality and discrimination. In this context, Brazil's position regarding data protection in a less judicious way, in favor of business models of financial institutions and startups, seems to connect with the systemic perception of the existence of the most beneficial regulatory environment for certain sectors, as well as the continuity of capitalism through digital and data colonialism, resulting in the need for new solutions for the effectiveness of data protection and the safeguarding of individual rights. In this wake, we proposed: 1) the adoption of digital civil education; 2) more rigorous application of data governance by public and private institutions, including addressing the UN's sustainable development goals; and 3) the structuring of legislation that acts in greater depth at the heart of the matter, regulating aspects related to algorithms and artificial intelligence, in order to make data processing more transparent and to enable both accountability and control by society civil law, as it has already been proposed by the European Union, the United States and in a still incipient form in Brazil in a Bill pending in the Federal Senate.Item type: Item , Streaming audiovisual e futebol: caminhos e perspectivas no Brasil.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2021-10-20) Araújo, Maria Lua Ribeiro; Silva, Juliano Mendonça Domingues da; Bezerra, Cláudio Roberto de Araújo; Cardoso, João Batista Freitas; Rocha Júnior, Dario BritoThis Master's research, entitled "Audiovisual Streaming and Football: Paths and Perspectives in Brazil", is located in the field of Communication and covers Creative Industries in the audiovisual sector. It seeks to understand the transformations in the form of production and distribution of specialized content in sports and in real time on streaming platforms. In this sense, it is studied, among other aspects, the language, format, technological improvement and the use of streaming tools by football clubs. The results presented were guided by the following research problem: How has the phenomenon of streaming impacted the football broadcasting industry in Brazil? To answer this question, an exploratory investigation was carried out, where concepts such as digital media and technologies, media convergence, multimedia communication, sports-related communication, sports broadcasts and digital culture are considered, based on two cases with games broadcast by YouTube: the Athletiba 2017 and the Campeonato Carioca and Taça Rio 2020. From the study, it was possible to observe a trend in the change in the logic of distribution and consumption of sports content in the country.Item type: Item , A valorização da criatividade no mercado de consumo de vestuário na contemporaneidade.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2023-03-01) Bresani, Mirella Campello; Rocha Júnior, Dario Brito; Teixeira, Carla Patrícia Pacheco; Oliveira, Tatalina Cristina Silva deThe present project deals with the planning and prototyping of a product that seeks to solve problems about consumption values linked to the creative economy of clothing and the (re)emergence of the “human raw material” - creatives inserted in the handmade of clothing, identified in observations of the craft day by day and in surveys carried out among professionals and entrepreneurs in the State of Pernambuco. Over the last few decades, new business structures have emerged and the return of excluded and/or marginalized crafts, increasingly since the Industrial Revolution in England, in the last decades of the 18th century, has brought to light business opportunities with lucrative purposes that are becoming making livelihoods, usually coming from craftsmen from different segments of the area studied, giving rise to entrepreneurship and artisanal return. However, it takes advantage of these perceptions of the exponential growth of knowhow to creation, with the aim of solving problems in the area of communication. Handmade, as the translation of the term itself, means the creation and development of products made in an artisanal and/or artistic way, without industrial processes in their entirety, automated and created in series. Bibliography was used in the area of clothing, management, technology and history, to briefly understand and open a field of study and investigation, as well as proposing solutions for communication strategies, thus allowing to identify their stories, people involved in their productions, their values , its purposes and processes, thus achieving a visible and differentiated inauthenticity of the creative economy. Therefore, research was necessary, both bibliographical and marketing: field research in an existing group, for a better understanding and analysis of data, guidance and planning in the face of tools created by Löbach (2001). Among other options arising from brainstorming, the conclusion was reached, although in the case of creation, fashion and design, the final product was determined on prerogatives linked to management, marketing and communication, that the product would have greater efficiency by taking advantage of the sales technology and connections: an application with the aim of connecting the three audiences involved, entrepreneurs/brands, craftsmen and the consumer public with a performance to promote the appreciation of handmade products, interaction between craftsmen and brands with interests in networking and sales. The project is interested in market evolution, along with the development of the application.Item type: Item , MILA, uma proposta de tecnologia na educação: uso de aplicativos com textos jornalísticos em sala de aula.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2023-03-03) Erthal, Ana Luisa Montenegro; Peixoto, João Guilherme; Rocha Júnior, Dario Brito; Lins, Anthony; Cavalcanti, JoanaThis research aims to collect data for the development of the MILA application, optimization suggestion the teaching-learning process through the critical reading of journalistic articles in the academic environment, whose target audience are teachers of the 6th year of Elementary School 2, of the private school Vila Aprendiz, in Recife. The proposal is to create a device with selected news, to be accessed in the classroom as a pedagogical support. For this, a semi-structured interview was carried out among the professors of the mentioned institution, together with an analysis of similars and the development of a screen prototype. This study proves to be relevant, since it aims to prove how the decoding of journalistic texts, extracted from printed vehicles, has multiple advantages in the teaching process, whether by reading itself, passing through the interpretation of texts and contextualization of school contents with the understanding of everyday situations. The main theoretical contributions are Freire (2019), Martin-Barbero (1995), Kaplún (1999), Cavalcanti (2003), Prensky (2011), Soares (2014) Jenkins (2015) and Tezani (2017). As a result, the interviewees accepted the proposal, received with enthusiasm, of potential in the citizenship formation of students and in social belonging. The work involves the areas of Communication, Education and Digital Information and Communication Technologies (TDICS), in accordance with the research line Technologies, Languages and Products of the Professional Graduate Program in Communication with a concentration area in Creative Industries at the University Catholic of Pernambuco.Item type: Item , LungCast: uma plataforma de compartilhamento e análise interativa da ausculta pulmonar.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2023-03-15) Moraes, Nelson Henrique Lopes de; Rocha, Dario Brito; Lins, Anthony José da Cunha Carneiro; Peixoto, João Guilherme de Melo; Morais, Caio Cesar AraújoIntroduction: Despite pulmonary auscultation being a well-established method in clinical practice, it faces criticism regarding its accuracy, reproducibility, and reliability. However, when subjected to more sophisticated methods, it has shown efficacy in diagnosis, obviating the need for more costly approaches. Objectives: The present project aims to develop a tool that optimizes the use of electronic stethoscopes, allowing for the capture, recording, transmission, and analysis of respiratory auscultation sounds on-site or remotely. Methodology: The development of this project consisted of the following steps: 1) literature review on pulmonary auscultation; 2) application of a questionnaire based on the Likert scale, which assessed the perception of healthcare professionals regarding the accuracy of auscultation, the terminology used, the perception of electronic devices, and interaction methods such as platforms. Additionally, an evaluation of auscultation was conducted by providing 05 respiratory sounds, with greater accuracy observed for normal sounds and wheezing; 3) analysis of similar tools through the search for applications in the virtual stores, Google Play Store and Apple Store, resulting in 46 applications, of which only 02 closely aligned with the proposed platform; 4) development of a virtual design for the graphical interface; 5) creation of a navigable prototype. Conclusion: By making this tool available to the scientific community and society, we hope to contribute significantly to changing the way auscultation is performed, taught, and, above all, to providing distance services, which will not only facilitate diagnosis but also treatment and necessary assessments, including social security.Item type: Item , O mapa das minas: site de registro, integração e conexão das profissionais femininas dos setores da música em Pernambuco.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2023-02-09) Costa, Karina Hoover Rodrigues; Ferreira, Alexandre Figueirôa; Silva, Izabela Domingues da; Teixeira, Carla Patrícia PachecoThis project aims to develop a website for female music producers in the State of Pernambuco to promote the integration of these women with the market and each other. They may register themselves as users and offer their services through it. The website works as a search engine, allowing searches by the professional's name, occupation, or place of residence. When someone chooses a specific producer, her profile is displayed, including a brief resumé, skills, experiences, direct contact, and personal links from social networks. The main goal is to create a space where they can showcase their work, favoring connections between market demand and female labor supply. Along with the associated social networks, Mapa das Minas also works as a space for mediated communication, disseminating and republishing news, job opportunities, information about the sector, and training courses opportunities. Our hypothesis is that the performance of these professionals, social agents in the artistic field, is marked by the reproduction of inequality and the invisibility of gender, evidenced by the lack of opportunities, appreciation, and disparity in working conditions. Thus, creating such a digital environment aims to reduce these asymmetries. We adopted three methodological procedures: documentary research, qualitative interview, and participant observation. The documentary research included theoretical sources for constructing female gender stereotypes and the music production industry, considering existing research and data collected on the sector. Conducting interviews with professionals from Pernambuco contributed to understanding these women working environment, considering the motivations, difficulties, and expectations regarding their work in the music industry. Finally, the researcher's participant observation contributed to the corpus of the qualitative research, determining the selection of the interviewees and the analysis within the project's goals.Item type: Item , Comunicação emocional: proposta humanizada para docentes em Ambiente Virtual de Aprendizagem.(Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, 2023-03-28) Silveira, Fernanda Paiva Furtado da; Carvalho, Breno José Andrade de; Lins, Anthony José da Cunha Carneiro; Rodrigues, AlessandraThe present work focused on answering the following question: how to provide Distance Education teachers with a better experience in a virtual learning environment? The general objective of the research is, therefore, to develop a proposal to improve the experience of teachers in the virtual learning environment of the Catholic University of Pernambuco. For this, the research used theoretical contributions on the technological domain of teachers by Behar et al., (2013), affective computing by Picard (1997) and Bercht (2006), humanized virtual assistants/agents by Cruz, Alencar and Schimitz ( 2018) and Fava (2018), emotional communication by Bartsch and Hübner (2005) and Tapias and Cué (2015) and user experience by Buley (2013) and Grilo (2019). As methodological aspects, the work used literature review, documentary research and online questionnaire in addition to the Project Model Canvas methodology, by Finocchio Júnior (2020). As a result, a canvas is presented for the development of a humanized virtual assistant for Unicap distance education teachers. The research is relevant to the areas of communication and education, as it is a proposal that takes into account the improvement of the experience/communication between the teacher and the virtual learning environment, in addition to being a product of the Creative Industries.
